Bloomington Meals on Wheels has expanded its services to include a new delivery route within the city limits of Bloomington.

The new Route 7 will serve an additional 12 clients.  Meals on Wheels services those who are recovering from an accident or illness, temporary or permanent disability or unable to prepare food independently.  Two nutritious meals a day are delivered over the noon hour by a friendly volunteer, Monday through Friday.

The Neighborhood Assistance Program awarded Bloomington Meals on Wheels tax credits which enabled the program to expand its services.  Tax credits are still available for the 2012-2013 cycle.  Those interested in purchasing NAP tax credits should contact Mary Lang at the Bloomington Hospital Foundation, phone 353-5864.

Bloomington Meals on Wheels will celebrate its 40th year of service to the Bloomington community in 2013.
