Dancing with the Celebrities participation raises $14K for Meals on Wheels

On August 9, Meals on Wheels Board president Kathy Pratt represented MOW in the annual charity event Dancing with the Celebrities held at the Buskirk-Chumley Theatre.

Six local Bloomington “celebrities” compete in a dance competition to raise money for a charity of their choice. This was the first time Meals on Wheels had participated in the event.  The charity raising the most money wins the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy.

Pratt and dance partner Matt Brand fox-trotted their way to the finale to raise $14,000 for Meals on Wheels.  These funds will go directly to support Meals on Wheels and further our mission of serving those in need in our community.

“I had a lot of fun participating and am pleased that the fundraising we were able to do appears to have been significant,” says Pratt.  “I appreciate the vote of confidence that you all placed in me to represent MOW in this effort and feel that it was a “bucket list” opportunity.”
