Volunteer

More than just a meal — deliver nourishment, connection, and care to neighbors in need. Bloomington Meals on Wheels depends on community members, just like you, to partner with us and help us fulfill our mission.

Our greatest need is for volunteers to deliver meals to clients on established routes in Monroe
County. If you want to serve in this way and have 1-2 hours a month, let us hear from you today.

🚗 How Volunteering Works

Step 1: Orientation & Training
We’ll provide training that covers safety, delivery logistics, and helpful tips.

Step 2: Choose Your Route
Pick a local delivery route that fits your schedule. Most routes take 60-90 minutes and serve up
to 12 clients.

Step 3: Deliver with Heart
Pick up prepared meals and deliver them to clients’ homes. A friendly smile and check-in go a
long way.

Step 4: Make an Impact
You’re not just delivering food—you’re providing vital connection and care that helps clients
stay independent.

Bloomington Meals on Wheels could not exist without our dedicated volunteers and generous donors. Both help keep the cost of our program affordable for our clients.

If you can volunteer over the noon hour once a month to deliver meals, please let us know. Download the volunteer application, agreement form and confidentiality form on the top of this page. Email to info@bloomingtonmealsonwheels.org or mail it to 2620 N. Walnut St., Suite 925, Bloomington, IN 47404.

Volunteers use their own vehicles to deliver meals and usually work in pairs. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license and state mandated liability insurance on the vehicle they will use to deliver the meals. Each route takes approximately 60 minutes to complete.
